Art in Public Places/Creative Capitol Internship is currently Open for the Fall.
This position exists to provide curatorial and administrative support for the Colorado Creative Industries, Art in Public Places Program, with a focus on the Creative Capitol exhibits at the Colorado State Capitol. Supervised by the Art in Public Places Manager, the Intern will help as needed with all exhibit logistics including coordinating with artists, curators, graphic designer, the Lt. Governor’s staff and the Capitol facilities staff.
Basic responsibilities will include assisting with administration of the art selection process, coordinating move in and move out of each exhibit, preparing promotional materials and coordinating the opening reception, and other administrative tasks as assigned. Intern may be called upon to assist with other AIPP activities, such as correspondence, database updates and online Call for Entry process.
The ideal candidate will be either a student who is pursuing a degree in visual art or art history, or a recent graduate who holds a degree in one of these areas. Minimum qualifications required include strong communication and writing skills, experience coordinating visual art exhibits, and competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Adobe Photoshop.
Approximately 20-30 hours per month from September to December with a $500 honorarium. Intern can occasionally work from home.

Colorado Creates internship is currently closed for the summer.
Coloradocreates.com is an online community where local creative’s share their work and their unique “Colorado Story.” Users of the site can vote on their favorite stories to become main features on the site. The site also serves as a resource for local events, news and creative meet-up groups in communities around Colorado.
The Colorado Creates brand is positive, upbeat and encouraging. We open the site to all creative individuals and businesses across various industries to share and promote their work. The site aims to create a strong, collaborative, creative community to show the rest of the world that Colorado is a hub of creativity.
For Colorado, the creative industries include design, publishing, film, television, digital media, performing and visual arts, as well as heritage, outdoor clothing and equipment, and craft beverages and food.
The Colorado Creates internship is designed specifically to monitor the site, curate user submissions and continue promoting the site as well as new postings through social media channels.
Content Responsibilities:
- Manage Wordpress CMS to monitor, edit and update postings. (Training will be required.)
- Curate user submissions based on standards of the website. Make sure stories meet creative requirements while keeping in line with the Colorado Creates brand.
- Post new submissions on a daily basis keeping a dynamic and diverse group of stories at one time.
- Research local events, relevant news stories and Colorado fun facts to populate the calendar, news feed and “Did You Know” feature.
- Communicate with users who submit content to keep them updated on post progress and answer any questions.
- Work with CCI media coordinator to find potential opportunities for content and promotion (i.e. CCI Newsletter, events, etc.)

- Make sure you switch to 'use facebook as page' under account on your personal FB profile and choose ColoradoCreates
- Post 2-3 times a day.
- If you're referencing a FB company or page make sure that Colorado Creates 'likes' them and then use @FBCompany, so that our post also posts to their wall for more visibility.

Ideal candidates will be students who are pursuing a degree in Digital Media or arts administration, communications, journalism, or public affairs.
Minimum qualifications required include strong communication and writing skills, experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and previous experience working in an office environment. Approximately 10-12 hours per week for the semester with a $500 honorarium.

Arts Public Art Internship is currently closed for the Fall.
This position exists to provide clerical and administrative support for the Colorado Creative Industries, Art in Public Places Program. Supervised by the Art in Public Places Program Administrator, the Intern will help as needed with basic word processing and data entry, managing AIPP files, filing and other administrative tasks as assigned. As well as assisting with art selection panel meetings, data entry, database updates, Call for Entry process and other general administrative duties.
Ideal candidate will be student who holds or is pursuing a degree in art or arts administration, communications, journalism, or public affairs and have excellent organizational skills and strong computer and writing skills.
Minimum qualifications required include strong communication and writing skills, experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Adobe Photoshop. Attention to detail, data entry experience and previous experience working in an office environment are required. The ideal candidate will also have an interest in the arts and public art in particular.
Approximately 15 hours a week for the semester with a $500 honorarium.
