Tickets now on sale

DENVER, Colo. February 15, 2011 – The Digital Media Symposium (DiMe), dedicated to Colorado’s digital creators in entertainment and technology, and those who innovate at media’s cutting edge, takes place on Friday, February 18th at St. Julien Hotel in downtown Boulder.  Visionary leaders from the film, media and gaming industries will discuss applications of new technology as well as how to engage and collaborate.  Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at www.dimeboulder.com.

The DiMe was recognized with a $25,000 grant for expansion, awarded as part of the City of Boulder’s Arts and Business Collaborative (ABC) grants.  This grant supports the continuation, and expansion, of the symposium.  More importantly, it illustrates the significance of this sector of Colorado’s workforce.

The DiMe is an initiative of the Boulder International Film Festival, Governor’s Office of Creative Industries, and the Boulder Convention & Visitors Bureau. The grant will be used in the coming years to expand the DiMe into a multi-day event including workshops, trainings, digital art exhibits, and increased opportunity for collaboration.

Kathy Beeck, director of the Boulder International Film Festival, said, “The goal of the Digital Media Symposium is to bring together national and local visionary leaders and artists in film, cable and broadcasting, gaming and mobile industries to discuss the potential for collaboration as well as the evolution of new technology on creative innovation, specifically in entertainment-based digital media.”
