Introduction to Folklore for Grade 12
This lesson plan shows how students can master Colorado content standards in visual arts, language arts, geography and history while they have a lot of fun identifying their own folklore and folk groups. Suggested activities include brainstorming sessions, reading and writing assignments, and game playing. Audio and video materials are recommended and suggestions are made for bringing examples of folk art into the classroom for students to see first-hand. In about six hours of classroom time students will be able to define the four major areas of folklore and identify examples of each.
